Established: Enabling your teen to develop healthy habits & reduce anxiety on & offline

Do you want to help your teenager establish their identity in a world of mixed messages? How can parents enable their children to benefit from social media rather than be ruled by it?

Establishing a strong identity, un-swayed by peer pressure, is core to developing a healthy self-esteem. Loneliness is on the rise - despite living in a world where communication has never been easier. Our young people are forgetting how to communicate effectively and meaningfully. Too often they’re replacing quality self-care and constructive conversation with social media likes and followers. It’s become a drug – a dopamine fix - which never satisfies and only leaves young people needing more.

Moreover they’re being fed unrealistic messages of so called ‘perfection’ through their social media celebrity feeds. This is resulting in many young people developing a depleted view of their ‘identity’ and craving attention through fickle affirmation on their social media platforms. Too often they’re looking on their social media and comparing other people’s best to their worst.

To enable your young person to develop a healthy identity and use social media in a constructive way that empowers them rather than depresses them, then sign up for our parent event ‘Screens, Teens & Self-esteem’ on the 24th January 2019. Find out more on our events page.
